How to configure the idle mode?
June 18th, 2009
When enabled, the idle mode allows the DVBLink service to stop the HD PVR acquisition when it is no longer in use by Media Center.
Also, to avoid stopping and starting the acquisition uselessly during short transitions, there is a configurable delay which controls how long after the HD PVR is not used before entering the idle mode.
Note: The default installation of DVBLink for HDPVR has the idle mode enabled and the delay set to 5 minutes.
To change the idle mode:
- Open the DVBLink Source Configuration application
- Select your HDPVR source from the tree
- Click the Properties button to open the HDPVR Properties window
- Under General Settings choose an option for When HD PVR not in use, Enter Idle Mode setting
- Save your changes
Alternatively, you can configure it directly in your Config.xml file under the parameters StopAcquisitionOnIdle and StopAcquisitionOnIdleDelay. Note that 5 seconds are always added to the value of StopAcquisitionOnIdleDelay.
