Installation Instructions


Installation

  1. Turn off UAC*
  2. Install DVBLink server* (DVBLinkServer.msi)
  3. Install DVBLink for DVBDream (DVBDreamBridgeSetup.exe)

* Reboot!!!

Setup Media Center

In this step we configure Media Center to use the virtual tuners created by the DVBLink server installer. The channel’s audio and video will come from these virtual tuners.

  1. Open Media Center
  2. Go to settings and begin the Setup Tv Signal process
  3. Deep into the setup, it begins Examining TV Signals, which is a very long operation, just cancel the scanning
  4. Choose Let me configure my Digital Satellite (DVB-S) without signal detection
  5. If you have other tuners, select Add DVB-S tuners and select no if it asks you if you’re using a Set-top box
  6. Select only DVBLink Tuner #1
  7. Pick a satellite from the satellite list (your choice does not matter) and choose the Universal LNB option
  8. Repeat operation 7 for each DVBLink tuner
  9. Complete the TV Signals setup


Select channels available to DVBLink server

Here you’ll select which channels will be known by the DVBLink server. The channels selected in this step will not be added to Media Center automatically. DVBLink has it’s own mecanism for selecting the channels appearing in the Media Center’s guide.

  1. In DVBDream, open the DVBDreamBridge configuration dialog by using the menu entry Modules/DVBDreamBridge.
  2. Select your channels by using the checkbox next to each channels.
  3. When you’re finished, close the DVBDreamBridge configuration dialog. You must leave DVBDream running.


Create the DVBDream source in DVBLink server

In DVBLink, the channels information and streams are received from sources. In this step, we will create a DVBDream source, letting DVBlink server know about the channels we checked in the previous step.

  1. Start the DVBLink Server Configuration tool.
  2. Create a source by selecting the DVBDream (EPG&Stream) template and using the green arrow. You can choose any name for your source.


Bind the DVBDream application to the DVBLink source

  1. Return to DVBDream and open the DVBDreamBridge configuration dialog.
  2. Select the source name created in the previous step using the DVBLink Server Source drop-down.
  3. Close the DVBDreamBridge configuration dialog.


Add channels to Media Center

Please follow the following instructions to add your channels to Media Center’s guide.

EPG from stream (optional)

You can configure DVBLink server to get the EPG from either Media Center or from the stream. The official way to get EPG is from Media Center, but it if Media Center does not carry EPG for some or all of your channels, you can fill Media Center’s guide from the stream’s EPG.

  1. Start the DVBLink Server Configuration tool.
  2. Select Server Configuration (it’s at the bottom of the dialog).
  3. Open the EPG sources tab.
  4. On the right pane, select DVBDream as your EPG source.
  5. From the left pane, set the EPG Source to None using from the drop down for each channel you want to change the EPG source.
  6. Click Set EPG source using channel number or Set EPG source using channel name.

Alternative way (for individual channel)

  1. Select a channel from the left pane.
  2. Double-click on the EPG source from the right pane.


Notes

DVB Dream must always be started manually. It’s recommended to add a shortcut in the Windows’ start menu to ensure that the application is always running when Media Center needs it.

After a satellite scan, DVBDream must be restarted to allow DVBDreamBridge to detect new channels.
